Falling Dreams
The leaf, on the verge of reaching the ground, references the Autumn of life nearing a close and an uncertain end. Other leaves have traced their passing onto the pavement from where their origins have long since vanished. Origins, having faded with the transience of time and maturity, are referenced in the anticipation of impact. Drains lie in wait, washing away all the debris, summarising life's inevitable end or maybe more optimistically, washing clean.
